Meet the team

Richard is responsible for distribution in the South of the UK. Prior to joining JOHCM in July 2019, he was Associate Director at Janus Henderson Investors, where he was responsible for Midlands, East Anglian and expat European clients. Previously, he served as a Sales Manager at Gartmore (prior to its acquisition by Henderson Global Investors in 2011), where he held the same responsibilities. Richard started his career at Williams de Broë in Birmingham as a Trainee/Assistant Fund Manager before moving into Sales. He has a BSC in Logistics from Aston University and is a Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment Registered Representative. Richard has the Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning and Level 4 certificate in Discretionary Investment Management.

James is responsible for developing JOHCM’s intermediary and strategic partnerships across London and the South East of England. James joined JOHCM in 2010 having spent two years at A J Bell Securities, where he provided dealing services to both intermediaries and retail investors. James holds a BA (Hons) in Financial Services from Bournemouth University and the Investment Management Certificate.

Bryan is responsible for developing JOHCM's intermediary business, primarily in Scotland and the UK Northern regions. Prior to joining the firm, he was a Sales Manager at Investec Asset Management and an Account Manager at Standard Life. Bryan holds a MA Management (Honours) Degree in Business Administration and Management from Heriot Watt University.

Prior to joining JOHCM, David worked at AIG Insurance Europe and most recently as an Associate Director at Janus Henderson Investors.  David completed the IMC in 2016 and also holds a Geography degree from the University of Southampton.

Carolena supports the London based UK wholesale team with all on-going service, sales and communication with London and Channel Islands clients and prospects. Prior to this Carolena held a number of roles including, PA to the Chief Executive Officer and Sales Support Manager responsible for covering all aspects of UK sales activities.

Jan Hein Alfrink (Jan Hein) has devoted +27 years of his professional career to entrepreneurial-style business development in the European asset management industry, covering both institutional and wholesale segments. During his professional career, ambition, goal-orientation and “lead-by-example” sales leadership have formed the foundation of Jan Hein’s ability to grow and maintain a diversified book-of-business, with the gratifying appreciation of a broad institutional and wholesale investor network. Jan Hein joined Perpetual in August 2021, where he is Head of Institutional Sales Netherlands, Nordics and DACH region. Prior to joining Perpetual, Jan Hein worked at GAM Investments, in Zürich and Luxembourg, heading up their distribution business covering institutional and wholesale investors in France & Monaco, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Nordics and Austria and all asset classes. Before joining GAM, Jan Hein was Head of Sales Austria at Candriam (previously Dexia AM) based in Paris and Vienna covering institutional and wholesale investors. Whilst in Vienna Jan Hein was Managing Director at Kommunalkredit Dexia Asset Management, a Dexia AM led joint venture with Kommunalkredit Austria AG a local Austrian public sector bank. Earlier in his career Jan Hein was based in Paris where he was International Sales Manager at Natixis (previously CDC Gestion). Jan Hein holds a B.B.A. from Nyenrode Business Universiteit (Netherlands) and a M.B.A. from Emlyon Business School (France).

David van Reekum started his professional working career in the asset management industry in 2018. While he started in the intermediary he later also covered institutional clients before joining the Perpetual in June 2022, where he is currently institutional Sales Manager Netherlands. 

Prior to joining Perpetual, David worked at Schroder Investment Management covering wholesale investors. He holds a Master's degree (Business Geography) at the Utrecht University. 

Richard joined Perpetual Asset Management in 2021 and is responsible for institutional clients in the UK, Middle East, and Africa.

Richard has more than 20 years in the financial services industry and more than 10 years in sales and distribution. Most recently, Richard was Head of EMEA at BrightSphere International, Ltd. where he served as Director and led the institutional sales function. Richard spent more than 12 years at MSCI between London and Dubai, where he helped setup the Dubai office for MSCI and led their investment management enterprise solutions sales effort in the Middle East. Prior to that, Richard was a founding member of ValueScience, Inc. in Mountain View, Ca. Now part of BCG, ValueScience developed and provided advanced valuation techniques for M&A and corporate strategy applications.     

Richard has a Bachelor of Physics degree from Queen Mary & Westfield College, University of London.

23 years’ industry experience, joined Perpetual Asset Management in June 2023.

As Head of Asia Institutional business, Lily is responsible for developing and managing institutional business in Asia.

Prior to joining Perpetual, Lily spent 15 years at MFS Investment Management where she held the role as Managing Director, Institutional Sales and Relationship Management in Hong Kong.  She has diverse industry experience in the financial market.  Prior to joining MFS Investment Management, she spent 3 years as Financial Advisor with iPac Financial Planning and 3 years as Senior Associate Banker at Citigroup Private Bank where both positions were based in Singapore.

Lily holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Murdoch University.

Stephanie is Head of Institutional Clients at JOHCM where she is responsible for managing relationships with our existing and prospective institutional clients in Europe, UK and Asia. Prior to her current role, Stephanie was Head of Client Services and lead on all aspects of client servicing across our business. Stephanie joined JOHCM in 2004 and has a wide industry perspective having worked in various marketing and client service roles. Her past experience in asset management involved working at Gartmore, Lombard Odier Darier Hentsch and British Airways Pension Investment Management. Stephanie is also the Chair of the JOHCM Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee.

Millie is an Institutional Sales Manager. She joined JOHCM in 2017 and was most recently a Client Manager within the Client Experience team. Prior to joining JOHCM, Millie gained experience in Client Services, Operations and Finance. Millie holds a BSc in Economics from the University of Birmingham.

Patrick is Head of Global Financial Institutions – UK, Europe, Asia & the Nordic Region. Patrick has held several positions at JOHCM most recently Sales Manager. Prior to joining JOHCM, Patrick interned at Rathbones Asset Management, Fleming Family and Partners and UBS Wealth Management. Patrick holds a BA (Hons) in Archaeology and Ancient Civilisations from Durham University and the Investment Management Certificate.

Bhavin is Head of Client Services at JOHCM where he is responsible for our institutional and wholesale client base. Bhavin joined JOHCM in 2022 and has a wide industry perspective having worked in various Client Service and Sales Support roles. His past experience in asset management involved working with Fidelity, BlackRock and EFG Asset Management. Bhavin is a CFA Charter holder and has passed the IMC and Certificate in ESG Investing.

Alex is a Client Manager and he supports the Client Experience team. Prior to joining JOHCM, Alex worked at Baring Asset Management, BlackRock Investment Management, Investec Asset Management and Schroders. Most recently Alex held a Senior Client Reporting Analyst role at Jupiter Asset Management. Alex holds a Sports Science degree from Brunel University.

Rosie joined our London Office as a Client Manager, reporting to Bhavin Bharadwa. Rosie’s role will involve servicing our institutional clients and providing support to our distribution network across EUKA. Previously Rosie has worked at Deutsche Bank, Legal and General Investment Management, and most recently Altenburg Family Office & Foundation. Rosie holds a BSc in International Relations & History from the University of Derby.
